What Is Lubrication?
Lubricant selection decides bearing life more directly than the bearing brand does. Grade, base oil and thickener each have to suit the load, the speed and the temperature, and mixing incompatible thickeners in the same housing can cause the grease to separate and the bearing to fail well before its rated life.

Additive package matters too — extreme-pressure additives that protect a heavily loaded gearbox are the wrong choice in a food-grade application that requires H1 registration.

Lubrication Questions, Answered
Can I mix two greases?
Only if the thickeners are compatible. Mixing incompatible thickeners can cause the grease to soften and run out of the bearing. Give ChatMRO both products and it will tell you whether they are compatible.
What does NSF H1 mean?
H1 lubricants are registered for incidental food contact, so they are used where a lubricated component sits above or near a food line. H2 is for areas with no possibility of contact.
Which hydraulic oil grade do I need?
Give the equipment and its operating temperature range and ChatMRO recommends an ISO grade, then shows matching products in the pack sizes available.
Do you supply automatic lubricators?
Yes. Single point and multi-point lubricators are indexed with their fill grades and dispense rates, and can be quoted pre-filled with the grease you specify.
