What Is a Threading Insert?
A threading insert is an indexable carbide cutting tip ground to a specific thread profile angle — 60 degrees for ISO metric and UN/UNC/UNF thread standards, 29 degrees for ACME and trapezoidal forms — that clamps into a dedicated threading toolholder pocket for single-point thread turning on a lathe.
