What Is a Pipe Stands and Vise?
A pipe vise clamps a section of pipe securely so it can be cut, threaded, welded or fitted without the pipe rotating or slipping, using either a chain mechanism that wraps around the pipe or a yoke-style screw that closes serrated jaws onto it.
