What Is a Liquid Level Switch Accessorie?
Liquid level switch accessories are the mounting, wiring and mechanical components that install and adapt float-type or other liquid level switches inside tanks, sumps and reservoirs. A float switch works on buoyancy — a sealed float rises and falls with liquid level, tilting an internal mercury-free tilt switch or activating a reed switch at set high or low points to signal a pump, alarm or valve.
Mounting method depends on tank access and float type: vertical float switches use a rod or cable-mounted stem fixed to the tank top or side, while tethered (cable) floats hang freely and rely on a cable weight to set the switching point at a specific cable length. Extension cables must be rated for the wet or submerged environment and any hazardous-location classification the installation requires.
