What Is a Portable Band Saw?
A portable band saw is a handheld power tool that drives a continuous toothed blade loop around two wheels to make straight cuts through metal pipe, tube, rebar, angle and structural shapes, without the vibration and burr associated with reciprocating or circular saw cuts. Deep-cut models have a wider throat capacity than standard handheld saws, allowing them to cut larger solid stock and bundled material in a single pass.
