A portable oil-fired heater is a direct- or indirect-fired combustion unit that burns kerosene, diesel, or fuel oil to produce large volumes of forced-air heat without a fixed gas or electrical infrastructure. An electric motor drives a fan that pushes combustion air across the burner, and the heated (and, in direct-fired units, exhaust-mixed) air is blown into the space through a torpedo-shaped nozzle.
