About Prier Products

About Prier Products

Prier was established in 1881 as a brass foundry by German immigrant Anton Prier, originally manufacturing a variety of brass goods including coach lanterns and household items. Floods in the industrial district during the early 1900s forced the company to relocate to higher ground, and over time Prier found its lasting niche in heavy brass plumbing parts.

During World War II the company shifted toward manufacturing specialty products for the U.S. war effort, and in 1946 Prier introduced its first freezeless faucet, a product category that remains central to its business today. The company continued to expand its hydrant and valve offerings, introducing a hot and cold wall hydrant in 2003 and acquiring the brass division of Mansfield Plumbing Products in 2007 to broaden its residential hydrant line.

Now family-owned for more than 140 years, Prier Products operates from four facilities on its Kansas City production campus in Grandview, Missouri, manufacturing residential, commercial, and ground hydrants, angle sill faucets, plumbing brass, and specialty valves. ChatMRO indexes the Prier catalog so buyers can search by hydrant type, length, or inlet connection to find matching parts.
