About OptiPure
About OptiPure
OptiPure began as a product line of ProCam Controls, a company that had supplied water and chemical management equipment to the printing, medical imaging, photographic, foodservice, and water treatment industries since 1975. The OptiPure foodservice filtration line launched in 2000, applying that water management expertise specifically to commercial kitchen and beverage equipment.
OptiPure's catalogue grew into a complete line of commercial water filtration systems, reverse osmosis membrane separation systems, and water softeners built for applications including ice makers, fountain beverages, coffee and tea brewers, espresso machines, combi ovens, and warewashing equipment. That breadth lets foodservice operators protect a wide range of water-fed equipment from scale and contaminants with a single filtration vendor.
Aquion, Inc. acquired OptiPure in 2015 as part of its purchase of ProCam Controls, making OptiPure its primary commercial hospitality product line, and in 2018 Aquion relocated OptiPure's manufacturing from Plano, Texas to a larger facility in Roselle, Illinois. Pentair later acquired Aquion in February 2019. ChatMRO's catalogue covers OptiPure's filtration, RO, and softener systems by equipment type and flow rate so foodservice operators can match filtration to their kitchen equipment.

Frequently asked questions
What equipment does OptiPure's water filtration protect?
OptiPure filtration, reverse osmosis, and softener systems are designed for ice makers, fountain beverages, coffee and tea brewers, espresso machines, combi ovens, and warewashing equipment. Matching the system to the specific equipment type and its flow rate is key to proper protection.
What's the difference between OptiPure's filtration and reverse osmosis systems?
Standard filtration systems remove sediment, chlorine, and taste and odor compounds from incoming water, while reverse osmosis systems use a membrane to remove a much broader range of dissolved minerals and contaminants. RO systems are typically specified for equipment especially sensitive to water hardness or dissolved solids.
What is OptiPure's relationship to ProCam Controls?
OptiPure began as a product line within ProCam Controls, a water and chemical management equipment supplier operating since 1975. OptiPure later became ProCam's primary commercial hospitality product line following Aquion's 2015 acquisition.
Who owns OptiPure today?
Pentair acquired Aquion, Inc. in February 2019, and Aquion had acquired OptiPure's parent company ProCam Controls in 2015. OptiPure's manufacturing operations relocated from Plano, Texas to Roselle, Illinois in 2018 under Aquion's ownership.
Does OptiPure make water softeners in addition to filters?
Yes, OptiPure's commercial product line includes water softeners alongside its filtration and reverse osmosis systems. Softeners are commonly specified for warewashing and other equipment sensitive to water hardness.
