About Hatch Lighting

About Hatch LightingLED Drivers & Lighting Electronics

Hatch Lighting began in 1985 as Hatch Transformers, founded by Michael Hatch to design and manufacture electronic compact fluorescent ballasts and electronic low voltage transformers for the lighting industry. Hatch designed his first electronic power supplies to drive compact fluorescent lamps, then the newest lighting technology available, becoming one of only two companies manufacturing electronic transformers for these emerging markets, with circuits originally developed in Tampa and manufacturing eventually moved to southern China in the early 1990s to keep pace with growth.

Toward the end of the 1990s, Hatch began developing Electronic HID ballasts, and over the following decade built what became one of the most comprehensive and technically advanced lines of E-HID ballasts in the lighting industry. In 2010 the company shifted its development focus to LED drivers, growing its catalog to several hundred SKUs covering a full array of lighting applications, and in 2020 launched V-LOC, its most advanced family of key-programmable LED drivers for constant voltage lighting.

Now operating under the Hatch Lighting name, the company has expanded its catalog to include Emergency LED Driver Systems and Surge Protection Devices alongside its core LED driver line. ChatMRO helps lighting contractors and facility teams source Hatch Lighting drivers and ballasts by matching exact wattage, voltage, and dimming protocol requirements against verified stock.
