About TECO-Westinghouse

About TECO-Westinghouse

TECO-Westinghouse traces its roots to George Westinghouse's introduction of the DC motor line in 1888 and Westinghouse Electric's launch of the world's first commercial AC motor in 1894. The Westinghouse Heavy Industrial Motor Division was formed in 1975 in Round Rock, Texas, building on that long industrial motor heritage.

In 1988, Westinghouse Motor Company was established as a joint venture between Westinghouse Electric and TECO Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd. TECO's role shifted from investor and supplier to full owner in 1995 when it acquired all of Westinghouse Electric Corporation's shares in the venture, and the company was renamed TECO-Westinghouse in 1997 to promote the TECO name across the North American market.

With over a century of combined motor design experience, TECO-Westinghouse supplies three-phase general purpose motors, stainless steel washdown duty motors, permanent magnet motors, crusher and severe duty motors, explosion-proof motors, and medium voltage motors used to drive pumps, fans, compressors, rolling mills, grinders, and crushers. The company also operates a Controls Division, established in 1999, for variable frequency drives and motor soft-start products, and ChatMRO indexes this full catalog so buyers can search by motor type, horsepower, or duty rating.
