About Precision Marshall Steel
Precision Marshall was founded in a family garage in 1948 by Thomas R. Milhollan, beginning a tool steel manufacturing business that would grow into an industry leader over the following decades. In the 1960s the company developed its 'Deluxe' pre-finished tool steel products and expanded its ground flat stock line while adding drill rod to its offering.
Tom's son Jack Milhollan joined the company in 1973 and later became president and CEO, guiding Precision Marshall through product diversification, new technology investment, and distribution network expansion. The 1986 acquisition of Marshall Steel led to the formation of 'Precision Marshall' in 1988, combining two established tool steel manufacturers into one organization.
Precision Marshall Steel was acquired by Live Ventures Incorporated in 2020 and continues to operate as the largest independent producer of de-carb free tool steels and specialty alloys in North America. ChatMRO indexes the Precision Marshall catalog so buyers can search by steel grade, form, or dimension to find matching stock.
