About Perko
About Perko
Perko's history dates back to the early 1900s, when Frederick Persky founded F. Persky & Company in Brooklyn, New York under the name he later used, Frederick Perkins. His son Louis joined the business in 1907, and the company continued expanding its product line and manufacturing facilities as it grew. In 1916, the business was re-established as Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation, becoming Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Corporation in 1932 to reflect its growing product range, with the PERKO trademark instituted in 1922.
Louis Perkins became company president after his father Frederick's passing in 1947, and the business moved to Miami, Florida in 1961, where its facility has grown many times since. In 1977, the company adopted the name PERKO, Incorporated, the name it carries today as a fourth-generation, family-owned marine hardware manufacturer.
From its 425,000-square-foot domestic facility, Perko produces more than 1,000 marine products across 5,000 SKUs, including LED and incandescent navigation lights, battery switches, searchlights, underwater and deck hardware, and fishing equipment. ChatMRO's catalogue covers Perko's navigation lights, switches, and deck hardware by boat size and application so boat builders and marine technicians can find the right part.
