About Ekstrom Carlson
About Ekstrom Carlson
Ekstrom, Carlson & Co. traces its history back to 1904, when it began manufacturing woodworking equipment in Rockford, Illinois as the successor to the Redin Ekstrom Co. Over the following decades the company built a reputation for routers and became an early innovator in CNC router technology, a shift that positioned it at the front of the industry's move from manual to computer-controlled woodworking machinery.
In 1996, D&R Autochuck, the OEM replacement parts manufacturer for Greenlee screw machines, acquired Ekstrom Carlson along with its sander, router, shaper, cut-off saw, rip saw, radial arm drill, and multiple-spindle boring machine product lines. That acquisition shifted the company's focus toward precision parts and aftermarket support rather than building entirely new machine platforms from scratch.
Today Ekstrom Carlson specializes in cutting tools, spindle repair, live tools, arbor motors, and coolant systems used across CNC woodworking and metalworking operations, and became ISO 9001 certified in 2014. The company continues to operate out of Rockford, Illinois, serving customers who need both replacement tooling and specialized spindle rebuild services for legacy and current machinery.
