About Bon Tool
About Bon Tool
Bon Tool launched in 1958 when the Bongiovanni family developed the Masonry Guide System, an alignment tool that let masons lay brick without building a lead, saving significant time and money on job sites. The company was originally incorporated as Masonry Specialty, with a small manufacturing facility in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, and salesmen sold the guides out of the back of a van, training masons on site as they went.
As the masonry guide proved its value, the company added supplementary masonry products and gradually expanded into other building trades. In 1987 it was renamed Bon Tool Co. to better reflect the wide range of tools it had come to manufacture and distribute, a name that has stuck through six decades of continued family ownership.
Today Bon Tool's catalog has grown to nearly 5,000 professional-grade tools spanning masonry, concrete finishing, decorative concrete, drywall, plaster and stucco, flooring, roofing, and general construction, supported by divisions like BonWay for decorative concrete and acquisitions such as O'Tool and Wha-Lite Tool. On ChatMRO, contractors can describe their trade and specific task to find the matching Bon Tool product.
